Wyeth Earnest has spent much of her career as a government and political communicator. She's now the main communications adviser to Treasury Secretary Jacob Lew. She also directs how the department frames messages on issues, including economic and tax policy, domestic finance, international affairs, and illicit finance. Wyeth Earnest had served as a spokeswoman at Treasury responsible for international issues before eventually being promoted to her current post. She also handled the department's communications during Lew's 2013 confirmation process. Wyeth Earnest came to Treasury in 2009 from Organizing for America, an advocacy group supporting Obama's agenda, where she was a spokeswoman. She also served as press secretary for the 2008 Democratic National Convention and as spokeswoman for the 2008 inaugural committee. Wyeth Earnest was the spokeswoman for the Louisiana Recovery Authority, charged with getting funds and guiding the rebuilding of southern Louisiana in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, under then-Gov. Kathleen Blanco. Originally from Virginia, she earned her bachelor's degree from the University of Southern California, where she attended the Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism. Wyeth Earnest, 32, is married to White House principal deputy press secretary Josh Earnest, whom she met during the 2008 Democratic convention.
