WHITE HOUSE. Today and Tuesday, President Bush will host Mexican President Felipe Calderón and Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper at the North American Leaders’ Summit in New Orleans.
On Wednesday at the White House, Bush will make remarks on National Small Business Week. Bush will speak Thursday at the White House Summit on Inner-City and Faith-Based Schools in Washington. Later, he will meet with Mahmoud Abbas, president of the Palestinian Authority, at the White House. On Saturday, the president will speak at the annual White House Correspondents’ Association dinner in Washington.
HOUSE. Speaker Pelosi is at the VA Medical Center in Minneapolis today for an event with Democratic Rep. Tim Walz and other members of the Minnesota Democratic delegation.
Majority Leader Hoyer is in Miami today raising money for Democratic congressional candidates Joe Garcia, Annette Taddeo, and Raul Martinez.
Minority Whip Blunt is addressing the U.S. Capitol Historical Society reception today honoring Energy and Commerce ranking member Joe Barton.
On Tuesday, Blunt is co-hosting the Values Action Team Annual Washington Summit and will address the Chamber of Commerce from GOP Rep. Patrick McHenry’s North Carolina district.
On Tuesday, Hoyer will be in Orlando, Fla., to raise money for Democratic candidate Suzanne Kosmas.
Pelosi will attend a tree-planting on the Capitol grounds Tuesday to commemorate Earth Day and a ceremony Wednesday honoring Congressional Gold Medal recipient Michael DeBakey, the pioneering cardiovascular surgeon.
Hoyer and Minority Leader Boehner will attend the medal ceremony.
On Wednesday evening, Hoyer will speak at Oregon Democratic Rep. Earl Blumenauer’s annual comedy show.
On Wednesday, Blunt will address the Free Congress Lunch.
Boehner and Blunt will attend the Capitol Hill Club’s 10th Annual gala reception Wednesday honoring the GOP leadership. Boehner will also attend a luncheon Thursday for the Mount St. Mary’s University Bicentennial Medal Ceremony.
SENATE. Senate Minority Leader McConnell Tuesday will give remarks at a portrait unveiling for former Senate Majority Leader Thomas Daschle, D-S.D. in the Old Senate Chamber. On Wednesday, McConnell will speak at the Congressional Gold Medal Ceremony honoring DeBakey.
And Friday, McConnell will speak at the Family Research Council’s Faith and Family Summit, which is being held at the Willard Hotel.
