Morristown Mayor Donald Cresitello will stay on the Democratic primary ballot for the seat held by Sen. Frank Lautenberg, D-N.J., the Star Ledger of Newark reported.
A spokesman for Secretary of State Nina Wells, said Thursday that attorney John Kwasnik, who was challenging whether Cresitello had enough valid nominating petition signatures, officially withdrew his challenge.
Cresitello’s camp believed Rep. Robert Andrews, D-N.J., one of his primary foes, was responsible for the effort. Andrews denied the charge.
