Cries of "Hillary, Hillary" drowned out chants of "unity" at the Hispanic Caucus meeting this morning at the Democratic National Convention in Denver, where Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton tested punch lines that will undoubtedly be heard Tuesday night when Clinton speaks to the nation and the Democrats assembled here.
"I have seen those ads," Clinton told Hispanic Democrats, and the New York state Democratic delegation in an earlier appearance, "and I am Hillary Clinton and I do not approve of that message." She was referring to the new McCain campaign television attack ads arguing that Clinton should be the Democratic vice-presidential candidate, not Sen. Joseph Biden. Both crowds roared in laughter.
"We are on the same journey now," Clinton told the boisterously supportive Hispanic Caucus, trying out her party unity message, "and I ask each and every one of you to work as hard for Barack Obama and Joe Biden as you worked for me."
"We are not fighting to elect a particular president," she said, "we are fighting to take our country back."
To that end, she told the New York delegates over breakfast, "make no mistake about it, we are united."

No Simple Answer On Military Force: Throughout John McCain's career, the former Navy pilot has been difficult to pigeonhole on the crucial question of when to deploy U.S. forces.
The Economics of John McCain: Organizing much of his campaign around gas prices has forced McCain into a series of indefensible economic positions.
