Ozinga Selected To Face Halvorson In Ill.
Politics. Republican county chairmen in Illinois' 11th District today chose concrete company owner Marty Ozinga to replace Tim Baldermann on the ballot, the Kankakee Daily Journal reported. Baldermann won the February primary, but withdrew. "We are excited to have Marty on the ticket," said Illinois Republican Party Chairman Andy McKenna. "Marty Ozinga is a proven job creator, business leader and possesses a strong dedication to his community both at home and abroad." The seat is held by Rep. Jerry Weller, R-Ill., who is retiring. Ozinga will face Democratic state Sen. Debbie Halvorson in November.
