"I believe in bipartisanship, and that has gotten me in trouble."

-- Retiring Rep. Ray LaHood, R-Ill., during Sangamon County GOP's annual Lincoln Day fundraiser Monday, which honored his career, as reported by the Springfield State Journal Register. LaHood said he is as partisan as anyone else during election season, but while in office he said lawmakers need to work together to solve problems.
