Titus Considering Bid For Porter's Seat
Democratic state Senate Minority Leader Dina Titus said she is considering entering the race for the seat held by Rep. Jon Porter, R-Nev., following Monday's unexpected withdrawal of Democrat Robert Daskas, the Las Vegas Review-Journal reported.
Titus, who served 20 years in the state Senate, unsuccessfully ran for governor in 2006.
Titus lives outside the 3rd District but purchased a retirement home and shares a family vacation home inside the district.
"I'm going to make this decision fast," she said. "If I'm going to do this, I have to do it gangbusters because I'd be starting late."
Meanwhile, Democratic state Sen. Maggie Carlton told the Las Vegas Sun she would consider running if Titus decides against it.
