Former Rep. Mac Collins Will Not Seek Another Bid
Former Rep. Mac Collins, R-Ga., said Monday he would not seek another challenge against Rep. Jim Marshall, D-Ga., the Macon Telegraph reported.
Collins narrowly lost to Marshall two years ago and had left open the possibility of a bid this year.
“I’m just going to sit this one out,” said Collins.
The move is a boost to retired Air Force Maj. Gen. Rick Goddard, a Republican, who has filed to run.
Several party leaders, including Republican Gov. Sonny Perdue, have endorsed Goddard.
