A bill to ban members of Congress from trading securities based on knowledge they obtained on the Hill sailed through the Senate as both parties showed rare unanimity.

In the House, Majority Leader Eric Cantor said his intention was to bring the bill to the floor next week and a presidential signature is guaranteed. President Obama praised the Senate for its actions.

A report on CBS News's 60 Minutes report spurred Congress into action on the measure.
