Washington has reached a new peak of polarization, according to National Journal’s 2010 Vote Ratings. Here’s a look at some of the Senate odd couples -- senators in the same state delegation whose composite scores in the ratings are more than 20 points apart.
Nevada
Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D) and Sen. John Ensign (R) have a 60.8-point difference in their composite scores.
South Dakota
Sens. Tim Johnson (D) and John Thune (R) have a 66.5-point difference in their composite scores.
Connecticut
Departing Sens. Christopher Dodd (D), who retired from the Senate last year, and Joe Lieberman (ID), who will be retiring in 2012, have a 26.9-point difference in their composite scores.
Alaska
Sens. Lisa Murkowski (R) and Mark Begich (D) have a 28.5-point difference in their composite scores.
Massachusetts
Sens. John Kerry (D) and Scott Brown (R) have a 39-point difference in their composite scores.
