Report: Retiring Rep. Lewis Will Not Become a Lobbyist, He Says

November 8, 2012

Rep. Jerry Lewis, R-Calif., told the Riverside, Calif., Press Enterprise newspaper in the run-up to this week's election that he has no plans to become a lobbyist once he retires at the end of this Congress.

As a longtime member of the House and a former chairman of the Appropriations Committee, Lewis acknowledged at a campaign event for Rep. Mary Bono Mack, R-Calif., that such a move could be lucrative. But, "I'm not going to be a lobbyist," he told the newspaper.
