CORRECTED: A previous version of this story misstated when the State of the Union address is, it is next Tuesday.
Indiana Gov. Mitch Daniels will deliver the Republican response to the State of the Union, House Speaker John Boehner announced on Thursday.
Daniels, considered a viable presidential candidate before taking himself out of contention last year, will speak on Tuesday night after President Obama's address.
“It’s an honor to be asked. I hope to do the assignment justice,” Daniels said, according to a news release.
