Rep. Maxine Waters, D-Calif., had some harsh words for the tea party on Saturday while at an energetic town-hall in Inglewood.
"I'm not afraid of anybody," Waters told the crowd while talking about how she's going to push members of Congress and President Obama to move on job-creation policies. "This is a tough game. You can’t be intimidated. You can’t be frightened. And as far as I’m concerned — the tea party can go straight to hell."
She's been a sharp critic of Obama in recent weeks, calling on the president to do more to help black communities. The jobless rate is high among African Americans: It's almost 16 percent nationally and closer to 35 percent in some communities like Inglewood, officials say.
