Rep. Gabrielle Giffords, D-Ariz., will finish on Monday the "Congress on Your Corner" event that was disrupted a year ago by a shooting spree, her office said in a statement. The Jan. 8, 2011, event at a Tucson grocery store was interrupted when a gunman opened fire, killing six people and injuring 13 others, including Giffords.
Giffords plans to meet with some of the attendees of last year's event in a private gathering, including some of the people who aided the wounded and subdued the shooter.
In addition to finishing the Congress on Your Corner event, Giffords will also meet with and thank community leaders from her district.
