House Speaker John Boehner says "no substantive progress" has been made in two weeks in fiscal cliff talks between the House and White House.
- "I'm disappointed where we are -- disapppointed what's happened over the last two weeks," said Boehner.
- He said he makes this negative assessment, despite meeting Thursday with Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner and talking with President Obama by phone Wednesday night.
- Boehner's statement comes as a Jan. 1 deadline looms to avert tax hikes and spending cuts that could send the economy into a recession.
