Today's e-Reads: Boost for Facebook's Beleaguered Stock

Facebook's struggling stock posted the biggest single-day gain after the social networking service reported strong earnings for the last quarter, The New York Times reports. CNET reports that the stock rally boosted Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg's net worth by $2 billion.

Reuters reports that an Iranian mobile phone operator linked to China's Huawei tech firm, which is under scrutiny by congressional investigators, allegedly tried to sell embargoed U.S. antenna equipment to an Iranian company.

Apple scored a victory in its long-running battle with Samsung when a U.S. International Trade Commission judge ruled that the Korean firm infringed some Apple patents, according to the Wall Street Journal.

Helped by fatter bills from smartphone plans, Sprint reported a smaller loss than estimated, Bloomberg reports.

As his firm got ready to roll out the latest version of its popular operating system Windows 8, Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer told the BBC that the company would likely offer more hardware in addition to its new Surface tablet.

IDG News reports that Google, Microsoft and Yahoo have fixed a weakness in their e-mail systems that could have allowed hackers to bypass security safeguards.

For those with an extra $20,000 to spend, LG is now selling an 84-inch ultra-high definition TV, according to the Los Angeles Times.
