Video: U.N. Negotiations Spark Internet Control Debate

August 23, 2012

Many U.S. officials, Internet freedom groups, and tech companies fear that some countries like Russia and China will use negotiations over proposed changes to international telecommunications regulations to hand the United Nations more power to regulate the Internet.

National Journal's Josh Smith appeared on the Telecommunications Industry Association's TIA Now on Thursday to discuss the debate over how to regulate an increasingly international Internet.

More coverage of the debate can be found on our Tech page.
