Amazon Expands D.C. Staff

Amazon has expanded its small Washington lobbying office, adding former Intel senior policy counsel Brian Huseman.

Huseman joined Amazon May 7 as director of public policy and will focus on privacy, consumer protection issues, competition and trade for the Seattle-based online retail giant.

"Amazon is such an innovative company," Huseman said. "I'm really excited to be part of it."

Huseman followed privacy issues during his four-year stint at Intel. Prior to joining the computer chip maker, Huseman worked at the Federal Trade Commission, where his positions included associate general counsel and chief of staff . Before joining the FTC in 2001, he spent nearly two years at the Justice Department.
