Dot-Anything Goes?

ICANN, the California-based group that decides who gets a domain name, has approved a controversial plan to extend the dotcom universe. AP reports that Canon Inc., the camera and printer company, already plans to apply for ".canon." ICANN will start taking applications Jan. 12 so you have time to get yours ready.
