Rep. Giffords Gets A Few More Days With Her Husband

Rep. Gabby Giffords, D-Ariz., will get a few more days to be near her husband, astronaut Mark Kelly, before he blasts off into orbit.

NASA scrubbed Friday's planned space shuttle launch because of technical problems with heaters for the craft's steering system. The launch has been delayed at least until Monday.

Giffords traveled from Houston where she has been rehabilitating after being shot in the head in January. She probably won't be comforting her husband in person -- the astronauts are quarantined so they don't carry infections into orbit.

President Obama continued to Cape Canaveral despite the delay and took a planned tour of the center's facilities.Thousands of spectators had gathered to watch the launch, which will be the last for space shuttle Endeavour. It is not known if Obama, or the dozens of other dignitaries who planned to view the launch, will attend next week's attempt.
