Citi Hires Tax Lobbyist

Bill Rys has joined Citigroup’s lobbying shop to help build Citi’s tax and revenue advocacy in Washington.

Rys will report to Citi’s John Emling who has been covering tax issues, but will go back to running the federal government affairs shop.

Rys comes to the bank from Shell Oil Company, where he served as a senior advisor on tax, trade and employee benefits issues. Rys previous experience includes serving as a deputy executive secretary at the Treasury Department and working as a lawyer with Kellogg, Huber, Hanson, Todd & Evans.
