Today's Influence Ads: Clinical Oncologists, Aerospace Industries Tackle Sequester

With the sequester looming, several agencies took to advertisements to remind Congress what's at stake. The American Society of Clinical Oncology highlighted the effects of sequestration on cancer patients who could lose access to care and research in two new ads Friday, and the Aerospace Industries Association pushed against defense cuts.

The Center for Biological Diversity took aim against the National Rifle Association -- not for gun control, but for the NRA's opposition to legislation that would eliminate lead in bullets.

In other new ads, the Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget again asked Congress to fix the debt, the FACT Coalition called on Congress to close corporate offshore tax loopholes and eliminate permanent tax holidays, and the Partnership for Quality Home Healthcare offered a salute to home health care professionals who allow patients to celebrate the holidays with their families.

Those with returning ads, per Kantar Media's Washington Eye, include the Council of Fashion Designers and the National Association of Realtors.
