Chris Frates On Power, People And Influence From Capitol Hill To K Street

Sen. Kirk Returns to Capitol Jan. 3

Sen. Mark Kirk suffered a stroke last year, but he will be reportedly returning to the Capitol in January when he will walk up the steps to the Senate chamber.

The Republican from Illinois will return to Washington on Jan. 3, the Associated Press reports. And Illinois Republican Rep. Randy Hultgren told the Chicago Tribune that there may be a “big party and celebration when he comes back."

Kirk will walk up the steps and enter the chamber, the Tribune reports.

The Senator, who has previously said he hopes to return in January, has embarked on rehabilitation since the stroke. He even released a video this summer highlighting his recovery.
