Santa Claus Is Comin’ To Town... To Talk Fiscal Cliff

A liberal Catholic interest group is using Santa Claus in its fiscal cliff messaging – as if the impending showdown hasn’t ruined Christmas enough already. (Raise your hand if you don’t know whether you’ll be stuck on the Hill this holiday season. Exactly).

Catholics United will be trotting out Saint Nick at noon today on the East Lawn of the Capitol. In a release, the group describes the jolly fellow as “the timeless harbinger of Christmas joy” who will “urge Congress to immediately pass tax relief for 98 percent of Americans.” Ho ho ho, Merry Christmas?

Just yesterday, the group tried to get the Pope to tweet about the fiscal cliff.
