Cory Booker Explores Senate Run

Welp, it's official: Newark Mayor Cory Booker is eyeing a run for Senate, not governor.

In a video released today on his website, Booker said "Let there be no doubt: I will complete my full second term as mayor of Newark, New Jersey. And as for my political future, I will explore the possibility of running for the United States Senate in 2014."

So for those of you looking forward to a Chris Christie-Cory Booker showdown, sorry folks.

"I look forward to consulting with Senator Frank Lautenberg. It would be a privilege and an honor to continue his legacy of service," Booker said.

But um, Lautenberg, who is almost 89 years old, hasn't officially announced he's retiring -- at least not yet.
