Dwight Fettig, the staff director for the Senate Banking Committee under Chairman Tim Johnson, D-S.D., is leaving Capitol Hill at the end of the year to return to the boutique financial services firm Porterfield & Lowenthal.
Fettig, who previously worked at Porterfield & Lowenthal, served as staff director under Johnson for two years.
Charles Yi, the committee’s chief counsel and deputy staff director, will succeed Fettig as the majority staff director.
The committee announced the staff changes Thursday and Porterfield & Lowenthal issued a press release announcing Fettig’s return to the firm. Other Banking Committee aides were also promoted: Laura Swanson will become deputy staff director; Colin McGinnis will become policy director and Glen Sears will serve as deputy policy director.
