The New Republicans On House Ways and Means

Republican Reps. Tim Griffin of Arkansas, Mike Kelly of Pennsylvania, Tim Scott of South Carolina and Todd Young of Indiana have gained coveted seats on the House Ways and Means Committee.

Their appointments were announced Friday by the committee’s chairman, Rep. Dave Camp, R-Mich. He noted that their arrivals on the powerful tax-code writing committee comes at an critical time, when “the fiscal challenges facing America are significant.”

“I look forward to working with the entire Ways and Means Committee to meet those challenges and advance the policies needed to get our economy back on track, reduce out-of-control federal spending and strengthen our entitlement programs for future generations,” Camp said in a statement.
