If you're easing back into work after the long weekend with a little Cyber Monday shopping, the influential National Retail Federation wants you to know you're not alone.
Sixteen million Americans will use their work computers to shop today, according to a recent poll conducted for NRF.
That's not all.
Throughout this holiday season, nearly 72 million Americans will also be shopping from work, an NRF survey found.
Still, most Americans shopping online today will be doing it from home. The group estimates that 113.7 million Americans will load up their online shopping carts today.
All told, 129 million people will purchase items from retailers' websites today, up from 123 million who shopped last year, the survey found.
“Whether from the couch or the cubicle, online shoppers will make this Cyber Monday bigger than ever,” said the executive director of NRF's digital division, Vicki Cantrell, in a statement.
The survey was conducted Nov. 23-24 among 4,005 consumers and has a margin of error of plus or minus 1.6 percent. NRF has spent $2.6 million lobbying so far this year, according to the Center for Responsive Politics.
