Senate Press Gallery Vets Retiring

Senate Press Gallery veterans Wendy Oscarson and Jim Saris will hang up their Hill badges for good at the end of this year.

The two staffers have worked in the gallery for a combined 59 years, according to gallery director Joe Keenan. He sent out an invitation to celebrate Oscarson and Saris, who will trade the fiscal cliff "tension for a pension," he said.

"As reporters covered 8 presidential inaugurations, 14 Supreme Court nominations and 11 confirmations, 8 Senate Majority Leaders, 14 regular elections, Iran-Contra hearings, Impeachment 9/11 and the debt limit, they were there," Keenan wrote in the email.
