National Restaurant Association Hires 2 Hill Staffers

Two former Hill aides are joining the National Restaurant Association, the group said today.

Laura Abshire, former deputy chief of staff and legislative director to Rep. Mike Ross, D-Ark., is the association's new director of sustainability policy and government affairs. She'll focus on energy and environmental policy as well as some agricultural issues.

Ryan Kearney is joining as the new labor and workforce policy manager. Kearney served on the Hill most recently as senior legislative assistant for the House Committee on Education and Workforce majority staff. In his new role, he will oversee regulatory and legislative matters. His focus will include labor, immigration and wages.
