Kaine Taps Campaign Manager as Chief of Staff

Senator-elect Tim Kaine, D-Va., has named his campaign manager Mike Henry as his chief of staff in his soon-to-be Senate office.

Henry, a veteran Virginia political operative who also managed Kaine’s run for governor in 2005 and Sen. Mark Warner’s Senate bid in 2008, also previously worked for former Virginia Sen. Chuck Robb.

“Mike has been a trusted member of my staff and advisor for years and I am excited he’s agreed to continue to serve the Commonwealth in this new role,” Kaine said in a statement.

Kaine also named Jillian Martin, who was the policy director on his campaign, as his transition director as he forms his Senate staff. His campaign scheduling director Marc Cheatham is also staying on as scheduler during Kaine’s transition.
