Better Liked Than Congress: David Petraeus
Americans must sure feel angry with Gen. David Petraeus after he resigned as CIA director because of an affair with his biographer, right?
Not quite. According to a Gallup poll released today, 40 percent of Americans still have a favorable opinion of Petraeus, compared to 30 percent who now have an unfavorable opinion. Eight percent had no opinion.
For those of you keeping track, Congress -- and its 21 percent job approval rating -- is now less popular than a retired four-star general who is at the center of an extramarital affair scandal so convoluted that you need flow charts to understand it.
Congress' latest job approval rating, released in October, is the highest the institution has enjoyed since May 2011.
