AARP To the Hill: Hands Off Social Security Benefits

The lame duck is just around the corner, and behemoth AARP is reminding Congress that it wants Social Security benefit cuts off the table in any lame duck deficit deal.

In a letter sent to members of Congress and President Barack Obama today, CEO A. Barry Rand writes AARP is opposed "to adopting a chained consumer price index to calculate the Social Security cost of living adjustment for the purpose of reducing the deficit."
