Today's Pro Forma: Binders Full Of Women

OK, the "binders full of women" meme is so two days ago, but that's not stopping Democrats on the Hill from using it as fodder.

Rep. Betty McCollum, D-Minn., was promptly shut down by Speaker Pro Temp John Womack of Arkansas as she tried to bring up the expired Violence Against Women Act during today's pro forma session. After, she told reporters:  "Well, as you can see, I just got shelved like a binder."

McCollum, who arrived in D.C. last night, kept up the Democrats' pro forma "do-nothing-Congress" drumbeat against House Republicans, bringing up middle class tax cuts and the farm bill.

Correction: This post was updated to clarify that McCollum said "shelved," not "shoved" after a spokesman for House Leader Nancy Pelosi emailed to make the distinction.
