Justin Cole will join the Federal Communications Commission as press secretary, the commission announced Wednesday. Cole formerly served in corporate communications at Tata Communications. The FCC's previous press secretary, Neil Grace, was promoted to senior communications advisor.

Susan Bastress has rejoined Patton Boggs as a partner, the firm announced Wednesday.

The firm lauded her accomplishments as the first non-Qatari attorney licensed in the country and advising firms and sovereign entities in the Middle East.

Roberts, Raheb & Gradler also announced an addition this week. Michael Andrews will serve as counsel for the firm's financial services practice. Andrews formerly served as Vice president of international affairs for Citigroup and head of Salomon Brothers' D.C. office.

Kim Koopersmith has been elected the new chair of Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld, LLP, with her term starting April 1, 2013.

Bruce McLean
will step down as chairman after a 20-year tenure, but he'll remain a senior executive partner with the firm.
