Job Moves: Hantman Leaves Yahoo to Join Airbnb

October 16, 2012
David Hantman, deputy general counsel and VP for global public policy at Yahoo, is leaving the search company for Airbnb.

Airbnb is an online marketplace that lets users book accommodations. Hantman will be pressing the firm's case in the corridors of power.

"They have some huge challenges with a few antiquated laws in their biggest markets, so my job will be to help them convince governments that allowing people to rent out their own homes or apartments should not be a problem," he said in an email announcement.

Hantman, who spent over five years at Yahoo, is helping pick his successor. The process "will hopefully be complete soon," he said.

-- In other job news, David Jackson is the Retail Industry Leaders Association's new senior director of customs and industry compliance.

-- Lisa D. Hanna has joined the Council on Competitiveness as vice president for communications. Hanna was previously the director of media and public affairs at the Organization for International Investment.
