Five of the Newest and Hottest D.C. Fundraising Spots

Nothing is more Washington than taking in a quick meal or a long game to score some campaign cash. And since 2011, lawmakers have attended more than 3,300 Washington fundraisers, according to invitations collected and cataloged by The Sunlight Foundation.

So what brings the heat to the hottest fundraising spots? Proximity to the Capitol is key driver behind the success of such fundraising circuit staples as the Capitol Hill Club, Johnny's Half Shelf and Bistro Bis, which  have collectively hosted at least 785 events since last year. 

But there's a new crop of up-and-comers gaining popularity since the 2010 elections ended. These new spots have been increasingly playing host to Washington's political elite. Here's our list:
