Carmona Ad Responds to Chilling Flake Ad

Yesterday, Arizona Republican Rep. Jeff Flake's campaign came out with one of the most chilling ads this season, featuring the former boss of Democratic opponent Richard Carmona accusing him of having issues with anger, ethics and women.

And now the Carmona camp -- which yesterday blasted the Flake spot as a false and desperate attempt -- has an ad of its own directly responding to the Flake one. Ad fight!

In the Carmona ad, Retired Capt. Kathleen Brennan, who was on a SWAT team with Carmona, says the ex-surgeon general was "a joy to work with" who "treats everyone with respect." After talking up Carmona, she goes on to directly respond to the Flake spot: "So when I see a career politician like Jeff Flake attacking Rich Carmona who has spent his life helping others, it's despicable. Congressman Flake should be ashamed."

Dueling internal polls, which came out earlier this week before their first debate Wednesday, showed conflicting results as to who's leading in the Senate race.
