New VP For Advanced Energy Economy, Covington Launches Africa Practice

The director of the Maryland Energy Administration is headed to Advanced Energy Economy to serve as a vice president of the business organization.

Malcolm Woolf, who has been MEA's director since 2007, will be AEE's vice president for government and regulatory affairs. Woolf is a past director of the National Governors Association's Natural Resources Committee and also once served as counsel to the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee.

Covington & Burling also has a new hire. The firm has brought on Witney Schneidman to help launch its Africa practice. Schneidman, the former Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for African Affairs, will serve as Covington's senior international adviser for Africa.
