New Hires: Perdue Joins BPC; Canning Joins Capitol Tax Partners

Former Georgia Gov. Sonny Perdue is joining the Bipartisan Policy Center's Governors' Council, the group announced today. He currently serves as founding partner at Perdue Partners LLC, an Atlanta-based  trading company, the center said in a statement.

He was governor of the Empire State of the South from 2003 to 2011.

Annabelle Canning, a former Verizon executive, is joining Capitol Tax Partners as a partner, the firm said in a statement.

Canning was vice president for state tax policy at Verizon Communications and assistant general counsel for federal and state tax policy at Verizon Wireless.

Before joining Verizon, she was vice president and legislative counsel at the Council on State Taxation.
