New Hires: Kemp Joins Patton Boggs; Dempsey Goes to NAM

James Kemp, who established the Jack Kemp Foundation and was a managing partner at Kemp Partners, is joining Patton Boggs, the firm said Thursday.

Kemp, who is the son of former vice presidential candidate, New York congressman and George H.W. Bush Cabinet secretary Jack Kemp, will serve as director of strategic business initiatives at the firm.

Like his father, Kemp played football. He spent eight seasons, from 1994 to 2002, as a quarterback in the Canadian Football League. He ended his career with the Toronto Argonauts, according to Patton Boggs.

The National Association of Manufacturers said Thrusday that Linda Menghetti Dempsey has joined the firm as vice president for international economic affairs.

Dempsey was previously at the Emergency Committee for American Trade where she served as vice president and represented Fortune 500 companies on trade, according to a statement from NAM.

And Ana Lopes Meuwissen left Nelson Mullins this week to join Robert Bosch LLC, where she will serve as director of federal government affairs.
