New Hires: Buchanan, Lass to Ogilvy; Denton Joins Y-USA

Ogilvy Government Relations has hired Republican partners Dee Buchanan and Con Lass. Buchanan served as the House Republican Conference's chief of staff. Lass was senior director of federal relations for the American Petroleum Institute.

The hires come after OGR lost a huge client in Blackstone Group. Blackstone accounted forĀ  $2.5 million out of $9.65 million of total lobbying income for OGR, according to the Center for Responsive Politics.

Neal Denton is joining the YMCA of the USA as senior vice president and chief government affairs officer, the group announced.

Denton served as senior vice president for government relations and strategic partnerships at the American National Red Cross before coming to Y-USA. Before the Red Cross he spent 20 years at the Alliance of Nonprofit Mailers.

He began his D.C. career as a staff assistant for former Democratic Rep. Dennis Eckart of Ohio.
