McCain Says This Congress Is the 'Worst Ever'

When it comes to picking on Congress for its unpopularity, it turns out one of its biggest critics is actually a lawmaker.

"The worst since 1947 statistically, the worst ever as far as I'm concerned," Sen. John McCain told reporters Wednesday when asked to assess this Congress.

McCain lumped the Senate and the House together in the same dysfunctional boat, not the usual approach Republican leaders take, which is to blame their frustrations on Senate Democrats. (Senate Democrats reciprocate by blaming House Republicans.)

The year that McCain mentioned appears to refer to a news report that said the 112th Congress is on pace to pass the fewest bills since 1947.
