The former federal government relations director of Balch & Bingham has joined the board of advisers of RARE, The Association for Rare Earth.
Carl Biersack, who left Balch & Bingham in August, previously served as the director of government affairs at Barbour, Griffith & Rogers. He also once served as former Sen. Trent Lott's legislative director during the Mississippi Republican's tenure as majority leader.
Biersack, who holds an organic chemistry degree from Virginia Military Institute, is joining RARE while also expanding his own firm, Biersack Government Relations Team.
In hiring news, Josh Kardon has joined Capitol Hill Consulting Group as the firm's senior vice president. Kardon spent 17 years serving as chief of staff to Sen. Ron Wyden, D-Ore., until he left in 2010.
