Thompson Takes to Tampa Yacht to Fundraise

Tommy Thompson is using his trip to Tampa and the Republican National Convention to raise money for his Wisconsin Senate bid, according to media reports.

Thompson, the former GOP governor of the Badger State and one-time Health and Human Services secretary, hosted a reception aboard the yacht StarShip, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reported Wednesday.

Guests included, according to the paper, Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker, RNC Chairman Reince Priebus and five U.S. senators -- Ron Johnson of Wisconsin, John Cornyn of Texas, Richard Burr of North Carolina, John Hoeven of North Dakota and Mike Johanns of North Dakota.

The donation levels went from $500 to $2,500, the Journal Sentinel reported.
