The Pig Ad That Sank Cliff Stearns? (Video)

Now that Rep. Cliff Stearns, R-Fla., has conceded in one the biggest upsets of 2012, it's worth asking how a veterinarian by the name of Ted Yoho knocked off the incumbent by nearly 800 votes.

Yoho wasn't even considered Stearns' top challenger. He was an afterthought when the local paper endorsed Stearns' reelection. "He lists his greatest public accomplishment as his wife and children," wrote the editorial board of the Florida Times-Union.

One key: a Yoho television ad with actors pretending to be politicians slopping at the trough like pigs and flinging mud. "Career politicians got us into this mess but all they do is throw mud at each other," Yoho said.
