New Hires: Lewis, Cox Join Public Knowledge; Rak Goes to Petrizzo Bond
Public Knowledge, the open-Internet and copyright-protection interest group, hired Christopher Lewis and Bartees Cox, the organization said Tuesday.
Lewis joins the organization as vice president of government affairs. He starts on Aug. 20. Cox started as a communications associate on Aug. 7.
Lewis spent three and a half years at the Federal Communications Commission where he most recently worked as deputy director of the Office of Legislative Affairs and advised the FCC chairman on legislative and political strategy. Before joining the FCC, Lewis was the North Carolina field director for Barack Obama's presidential campaign.
Cox interned with Free Press as a communications and policy assistant.
Also on Monday, government relations shop Petrizzo Bond, Inc. announced the addition Adam Rak as its new senior vice president in a Silicon Valley office. Rak led the northern California operations for TechAmerica before joining Petrizzo Bond. Before that, he was a legislative aide for then-Rep. Barbara Kennelly, a Connecticut Democrat.
