Alex Conant, press secretary to Sen. Marco Rubio, slogged through the rain to watch the first-place Washington Nationals on Tuesday, and was rewarded when he caught a home run in the second inning off the bat of Ian Desmond.

Conant, a communications veteran who previously served as a spokesman for former Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty during his presidential bid, could be seen briefly in the broadcast doing a brief fist-pumping victory dance.
