It's a shot at her GOP opponent Chris Collins, whom Hochul urged to also release returns. But also, perhaps, it's a prod to Mitt Romney. Since Romney named Rep. Paul Ryan, R-Wis., as his running mate, Hochul has reiterated her opposition to Ryan's "Path to Prosperity" plan and tried to link her opponent to it.
Hochul isn't the only Democrat trying to use Ryan's budget plan against a Republican running for Congress. The DCCC has launched automated phone calls in districts across the country, linking 50 Republican candidates or members to the Ryan plan and what it would do to Medicare.
