Hey, Republicans, Tampa's Strip Clubs Are Ready For You to Make It Rain

The Republican National Convention in Florida doesn't officially start until Monday. But why wait to check out Tampa's gentlemen's clubs when you can visit them -- and make it rain -- from home?

Club Cam Systems runs webcams throughout Tampa's 2001 Odyssey strip club that allow online users to pay to watch and video chat with strippers. And company owner Russ Bruno tells the Tampa Bay Times that the service will expand to other clubs just in time for the convention, with the intention of reaching some of the estimated 50,000 people expected to attend.

The virtual experience doesn't end with webcams. The "Make It Rain" machine lets users charge up to $2,000 on their credit cards to watch cash fall on dancing strippers. Has making it rain in person become passe?

 From the Times:

Some strippers believe this "virtual club" is the answer for politicians who come to town and are scared of being seen in the club.

The service also draws clients into the Odyssey in person. That's what club operators are hoping happens during the RNC. "People coming down for the RNC can log in online and see what's going on at the club so they can bring parties to the club during the convention," Bruno said.
Attendees can even stay connected after they leave the Sunshine State. "Meet a girl here and fall in love with a stripper, and then they can still talk to her online from wherever they're from," a dancer named Go-Go told local ABC affiliate WFTS.

The Democratic National Convention will be held in Charlotte, N.C., in September and we're wondering whether Charlotte-area strip clubs have similarly stepped up their marketing game.
